For labeling my children’s clothes I use Mabel’s Labels the most. Their Colourful Label Out Loud Tag Mates are perfect to use for my son’s preschool. I don’t have time to iron or sew so these peel and stick labels are convenient for me to stick on pants and tops in a second. Plus, in my experience these are the only labels that don’t come off in the washing machine. A pack of 70 labels is $21.00.

Labeling things for the kids is useful if you don’t want to lose anything. How many times at daycare have I lost a pair of pants or water bottle because I forgot to put their name on them? Err…too many! That’s why I’ve taken to putting  name labels for everything my kids own.

A new company I discovered that creates clothing labels, boxes and gift tags, and stationary is Namemaker. I received a sheet of 30 personalized waterproof stickers from them recently. The stickers measure 1″ x 2 5/8″ and are a good size for sticking on sippy cups, books, and lunch boxes. The paper is not glossy but plain and they do have a variety of designs for every little girl and boy’s taste. You get up to 3 lines of text to fill which is good if you need to add a telephone number. Price is $14.95 for the sheet. Overall, simple waterproof stickers that won’t peel off in the dishwasher.

Since I’m not into stitching labels onto clothes I decided it was a good time to stock up on sticky labels for the kids. I just got a small batch from Oliver’s Labels, currently the only company to sell full color, waterproof graphics.
