The ERGOBaby is regarded as one of the best carriers around. So why is it so popular? In my opinion, I think it’s mainly because of the softness of the fabric and the design, which makes mom’s back and baby’s body feel comfy. With the ERGO, you can carry baby in front, back and hip positions. However, as always with most carriers putting baby on one’s back is always a challenge alone so I do suggest you have someone help you.

Nice features include well padded shoulder straps and a sleeping hood that adjusts to your growing child. As for the weight limit, it’s recommended to be 40 lbs even though it has been tested to hold up to 90 lbs. Unless you have a giant baby on your hands, this is good enough to hold a light toddler.

If you’re using the ERGObaby for your newborn, the new Infant Insert is a well-designed accessory. It carries the baby facing your chest and has extra cushions to support baby’s back and spine (see photo below). I think this is a good product considering it does give support to a newborn’s wobbly head. Other good features is the front pouch to carry keys, money or wipes and the adjustable waist belt.

Now the prices. The carrier ranges in price from $120-148 while the insert costs $25-38. I know…yikes! Is it worth the money? To be honest, I’m not sure. If money is no object and you want a stylish, comfortable carrier then yes.

Belle Baby Carriers has upped a level with their new eco-friendly carrier called Organic Earth. The company has really outdone themselves with this product having made it entirely of 100% organic cotton and Romanian hemp. Can I just say this is the softest baby carrier I have ever felt? The inside liner is of fuzzy fleece so will feel extra comfy against baby’s skin. The detachable head support panel is also made of the same outer hemp fabric and fleece liner. This carrier has been prewashed with the fabric being dye-free.

Putting this on is fairly easy as there is only one way to wear it. Like the Baby Bjorn, your child can only face toward you or away from you. The seat and straps are well padded, so good for a secure ride.

The Organic Earth carrier is handcrafted in Colorado, where the company is based. It really looks and feels high quality and makes babywearing a luxury. Recommend for children weighing 8 to 30 pounds, the price is $119. For more info visit Bellebabycarriers.com.
