Australian firm Snazzy Baby have developed a portable baby restraining device. The highly compact My Baby’s Own Travel Chair folds neatly into its own pouch and slips easily into any diaper bag for storage. When you wish to bring baby to the table, just find any chair with an upright back. Baby is held in place with four straps and buckles. One longer fastening strap keeps the device secured to the chair along with a non slip surface on the underside of the seat.

Snazzy Baby say the Travel Chair is good for babies that can sit up by themselves that weigh up to 35 lbs. The total portability of this device will ensure you’ll always have a place for baby to sit up and get noticed. The Travel Chair can also be used in supermarket carts too. This can help aid comfort, seating security and to minimize contact with that dirty old shopping cart. Snazzy Baby recommend that baby is not left unattended when using the device. This is a very useful product and I can see no reason why you’d not want to own one. They are available in two colors and are widely available online. I found it at Walmart.com for under $35.

Shown here is the Handysitt portable high chair from Minui. Before I get started, I must emphasize the quality of this product. The Danish designed chair is solidly made from quality components. This is why it comes with a price tag of a buck short of $150. It also was just awarder the PTPA (Parent Tested Parent Approved) Green Product Winner.

There is no doubt that this high chair falls into that cool Scandinavian design category and your little one will sit proudly, on its crafted wooden seat. After quickly assembling the seat from its fold flat position and securing it firmly to a chair, I sat there and toiled with its purpose. Why would you want this chair? I asked myself. Surely something as well made as the Anka high chair we reviewed some time ago would be a much better option? The child seat will only accommodate chair backs between 12 and 18 inches. Our dining room chairs have much higher backs and are far too tall for the chair to fit safely.

If you travel and eat out often with a child from 6 months to 3 years in tow, then this seat may be ideal for you, especially if you object to using the often seemingly unhygienic high chairs that most eating establishments provide. A bucket load of accessories are available from Minui, including comfy seat cushions, a 3 point harness, a carrying bag and stand alone legs. These leg attachments will enable the seat to sit upright on the floor. I believe that Minui should have provided these legs as standard. This would have made the chair more useful for most parents. To sum it up, I don’t see any harm in owning this product, especially if your abode is challenged in the square foot department and you don’t have much space for a permanent high chair. It comes in 6 cool color options and can be bought from minuihandysitt.com.

There are no surprises with the wooden Anka Convertible High Chair. It’s how they used to make them. Most high chairs on the market today are sturdy, but are a dreary combination of plastics and metals. This fairly light weight high chair is straight back to basics.

It is made from well finished sustainable wood and looks and feels solid. There is a washable and comfortable padded seat cushion which detaches for easy cleaning. The wooden tray is easy to slide out by depressing the two push locks, providing easy access for baby. Included is a dish washer safe, hard plastic tray cover which snaps on easily to provide a safe eating surface. The chair folds up fairly easily but does not look obtrusive in any room, so we have left it free standing when not in use.

To assemble, it took 10 minutes to do because of the easy to follow instructions. This chair will convert to a booster seat easily by removing a few components and adjusting the foot rest and seat height if necessary. Anka claims children up to 5 years old or 50 lbs can use it. It certainly feels like it will last many more than 5 years. Our two year old doesn’t seem to object too much by being strapped in at family meal times. This chair has certainly provided us with some quiet time, so in that respect worth every penny. This is a well made, pleasant and good looking product and would make any house happier for its presence.

Its high end cousin, the Svan High Chair is popular with celebrities Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling, Brooke Shields and Kim Raver.

Color options: natural, espresso or honey.
