Fixing Paco PSA Talks Kidney Disease And Organ Donation

Fixing Paco PSA

Today we’re raising awareness on kidney health. Did you know that kidney disease affects 1 in 10 people in America? According to the Mendez National Institute of Transplantation Foundation (MNITF), that’s an estimated 26 million who do not find out until their kidney disease is advanced.

There are approximately 120,000 people waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant in the U.S., and of these, approximately 100,000 need a kidney transplant.

This Fixing Paco Public Service Announcement (PSA) Campaign features Paul Rodriguez and Gloria Garayua, the stars of Fixing Paco, and MNITF’s multi-award-winning patient education series. They hope to educate the public on kidney disease prevention, and the need for organ donation.

You can also visit the website, where there will be more information on kidney disease and how to become an organ donor. You can also learn about kidney transplantation and how to be proactive in one’s healthcare.
