Books: Baffling, Weird And Bizarre Inventions For Kids To Learn About
Here are two new non-fiction books by Sky Pony Press that my son has been reading at bedtime:
Weird & Wacky Inventions by Jim Murphy contains the weirdest and wackiest inventions from the past. Presented in a quiz style, there are simple and clear explanations on how the inventions worked or failed to work.
My personal faves are about a Toy Hat patented in 1966 and a Vegetable Fork patented in 1895. Very interesting facts and short stories that are easy reading.
Baffling & Bizarre Inventions is the followup and shows kids baffling and utterly silly inventions in the form of a guessing game that is both challenging and fun.
The illustrations are amusing too. There’s one of a Portable Sleeping Cushion and a Machine For Patting A a Baby Asleep (wish that existed now!)
Both books are $9.99 and meant for ages 9–12.
