Books: Ben Loves Bear & A Year With Friends

1

Here are two reads from Abrams Books for little ones which I think are adorable.

Ben Loves Bear ($8.95) is a hardcover book that show the love between a little boy and his stuffed bear.

They do everything together. After breakfast, they play hide-and-seek and do tricks to make each other laugh. At night, Ben tells Bear a bedtime story and Bear snuggles with Ben until he falls asleep.

With nice illustrations the story is short, simple and sweet. Great for children in preschool and younger. The follow up Bella Loves Bunny comes out in March. The author is David McPhail – who is a New York Times bestselling illustrator.

A Year With Friends ($14.95) also has charming drawings. John Seven and Jana Christy are a husband-and-wife author-illustrator team.

Excerpt from the Abrams Books website:

February is time for snuggling . . . July is time for fireworks . . .This beautifully formatted picture book takes young readers through every month of the year as a little boy, girl, dog, and cat celebrate each month with unique, playful images that convey what makes it special. With gentle pastel illustrations in sequential panels, A Year with Friends teaches young readers about the seasons and the delightful ways they can be experienced with those you love.

Reading this with my daughter – she’s learning the months and understanding seasons.

I recommend both for your child’s library!
