Kristi Yamaguchi’s Sequel: It’s A Big World, Little Pig!

Figure skating champion Kristi Yamaguchi has written a second children’s book to add to her first one published last year – Dream Big, Little Pig!

This one –  called It’s A Big World, Little Pig! – follows Poppy’s adventures as a sweet female pig who travels to Paris to compete in the World Games. At first, Poppy is nervous about meeting so many new people in a new place. But, ever courageous and supported by her family (and best friend Emma, too!), Poppy begins to realize that although these animals look different, act different, and are from different places, they are all the same at heart. They all smile in the same language!

Overall: The sequel opens the door on Poppy’s life and I am starting to get an understanding of this little pig. Any child can relate to her nervousness as she tries to adapt to a new environment. When I first read this to my daughter – she started to pretend to ice skate all around the room! I think it sends a positive message, is uplifting and for ice skating fans a keeper. I hope that children will be inspired to let themselves travel and learn about other cultures from this book.

A bonus to buying this book is that one hundred percent of Kristi’s profits from It’s a Big World, Little Pig! will benefit early childhood literacy programs supported by her Always Dream Foundation.

Price is $16.99.
