The Newly Released Baby Einstein Discovery Kits

0

I received this free Discovery Kit through a LBi/ Baby Einstein program. However, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own and no other monetary compensation took place.

Baby Einstein has just released the new Baby Einstein Discovery Kits. These kits were created to help parents interact with their babies to discover music, nature and animals. This also means you can’t just buy the DVDS alone anymore.

There are six Discovery kits right now (3 more coming in February), each featuring a DVD, music CD and a picture book or Discovery Cards. The retail price is $19.99.

If you’re familiar with the company, you know there are different levels offered to suit a child’s age. The kits have 3 levels: Experience, Explore and Expression. There’s Baby Beethoven and Baby Mozart Discovery Kits, Explore is the Wild Animal Safari Discovery Kits, and the World of Colors Discovery Kit.

I got to play the DVD of the World of Colors Discovery Kit for my 25-month-old. The new video contains real footage of objects demonstrating colors and also has puppets. While we didn’t think much of the DVD, the board book is really good and holds my child’s interest. Artwork of Van Gogh are shown in the book along with the color descriptions.

My personal opinion is that Baby Einstein is perfect for babies under the age of 15 months. The videos and the relaxing music will capture a young one’s attention but for a kid older? Probably not. Or perhaps my daughter needs more than a green caterpillar toy to stare at on the screen.
