Scholastic Storybook Treasures: The 3 Little Pigs & Wheels On The Bus

Scholastic Storybook Treasures has great DVDs for learning to read. The two I’m sharing with you today has read along captioning and are of great entertainment for little ones.

The True Story Of The 3 Little Pigs…And More Animal Adventures (14.95) is a zany animated adaptation of the best-selling book featuring five very unique animal tales. There’s narration by the likes of Jon Scieszka, Zach Braff and Mandy Patinkin.

Also, there’s bonus features with interviews of some of the authors too.

The Wheels On The Bus Singalong Travel Kit ($24.95) is designed for children ages 3-9. The kit is packaged for on the go, so if you’re in the car, on the plane or train, this is something to get. There’s two musical DVDs featuring 15 animated literary classics (includes There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly), a CD with 13 sing-along songs, a 34-page activity booklet loaded with games and activities to support early math and reading skills, crayons, and helpful travel tips for parents.

Everything is packaged in a portable travel case with a handle. I really think this is great value as you get a lot in the box.

I think both Scholastic Storybook Treasures DVDs provide great storytelling and are just classic. A nice change to watch these than the commercial-type cartoons.
